A total of 6 volunteers went to the Makahu carpark where we headed west into the bush. We found quite a number of Wilding Eucalyptus along with the usual suspects such as P. contorta and Douglas Fir.
Some areas had quite a few wildings to remove or drill & fill, some of them quite large and time consuming while in other areas there were very few to remove, mostly quite small seedlings. It's good to remind ourselves that it's actually a good thing to find less wildings in areas that we have previously been working in.
Members of our wonderful team pulled, snipped and cut (and pasted) 328 wilding conifers.
